Overview

Desired results of the job:

  • Leads logistics and internal transportation team to achieve customer carrier performance, scheduling/routing, on time pick up, and on time delivery
  • Responsible for ensuring all Igloo’s transportation needs are addressed across all outbound modes of transport: 3PL, truckload, LTL, and parcel shipments
  • Foster a culture of customer obsession and drive team to provide exemplary service
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement transportation strategies, best practices, to achieve 100% on time performance
  • Implement KPIs, new processes, establishes standard work, establishes Service Level Agreements (SLAS) for all cross-functional teams, develop or implement new tools/systems to track efficiencies. Standard work to include process and expectations around schedule adherence and timely rescheduling of any missed loads
  • Compile and publish Daily Shipping Reporting to include $ shipping, carrier on time performance, and load times
  • Communicate seamlessly within organization and across organization to ensure alignment within and across functions including our customers
  • Implement visual management tools around scheduling and shipping
  • Leads with a visual presence both in the office and on the shipping docks
  • Annual negotiating for prepaid freight carriers (10% of outbound shipments)
  • Ensure proper coding of freight invoices for proper payments through Oracle Transportation Management (OTM)
  • Lead root cause problem solving of all KPI’s that are below plan. Develop cross-functional team to remedy and modify the standard work
  • Own, drive, and establish a monthly operating rhythm with our Transportation Service Providers (TSP’s)

Key Interfaces

  • Director of Distribution – plan/execute capacity, scheduling, shipping to meet budgetary goals and customer service within the constraints of the facility.
  • Customer Experience and Sales – coordinate joint goals and objectives to meet needs of our customers and ensure loads are scheduled on time to meet fill rates
  • Customer Transportation Departments – must be able to influence and integrate with customer logistics departments to meet on time delivery goals
  • Manufacturing and Planning – Coordinate with them regarding interface between manufacturing and shipping schedules

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Experience: 10-15 years logistics experience serving major retailers such as Walmart, Sam’s Club, Amazon, Target, Costco, and Academy. Also must have demonstrated results in driving lower costs through negotiating and working with 3PL’s and carriers
  • Analytical skills: Must be able to analyze and interpret data to drive improved processes and performance
  • Proficient with ERP solutions. We are an Oracle shop.
  • Physical Demands: Warehouse and Office environment.
  • Work environment: Warehouse is hot and humid in summer months, cold in winter months.
